opens with the titles of four British companies that have supported the film
and thirteen titles of actors.

opening titles, we already start feeling the mood of the film. It is filled
with nostalgia and sadness. This effect was achieved by the old, rusting music
and the instruments such guitars. The movie is set in a forest as two men
trying to get through them. It is clear that they are on a journey. Long road
can be taken as a metaphor that the characters have still a long way to go.

tell that one of the men have served in the army (by looking at his army bag)

is set in a rural England
- - The
flashback represents the closeness of the men and how they were raised
together. That is how the audience knows the two characters are brothers. It is
what’s going on in one of the characters head because the other brother is
actually dead and is like a ghost. We know this because of the lack of
conversation and the walking distance between them.
