In our sequence, the dominant figure is our main male character Chris Clark. He is in his mid 20's and represents the curious "explorer/investigator" bunch who are in a way idealists trying to find something magical and conjuring and prove our cynical society wrong. I believe that we conveyed a positive representation of such "nerdy" individual because the audience is rooting for him on his journey and also his innocent and vulnerable characteristic is pleasant to watch. His stereotypical wear like glasses indicate that he is in fact intelligent. The messiness inside the car transfers a level of untidy for our character but it is forgivable because he cares less about his appearances and more about finding the portal. Research books like "Area 51" help to support the idea that Clark is nerdy and "geeky". Tools like the tape measurer and a map prove that our character is nerdy because he appreciates science and looks for the exact measurements.
